On this project, we boarded the walls with cement board, waterproofed with Schluter Kerdi, tiled the surround with 3″x 12″ ceramic tile complete with accent border. After grouting, the grout was sealed and the Fleurco glass door/shelving system was installed, complete with silicone alone all edges. gorgeous!!
