Finish Carpentry Example #1

Portfolio Categories: Finish Carpentry.

On this project, we were asked to build a cabinet that would cover the sump pump/pipes, be removable if work needs to be done on the pumps but have a way to quickly check the pumps without removing the entire unit.  What we came up with was a cabinet complete with shelves and a hinged door that opens to reveal sump pit.  The cabinet was built using G2S nine ply Baltic Birch and primed with Benjamin Moore Fresh Start topped with two coats of Benjamin Moore Advance.  Clean and simple!

Basement Renovation #3

Nice to have a place where the kids can go and play.  On this project, we first added ten pot lights to the room, followed by building a bulkhead to hide all the pipes and frame the windows.  We then insulated the ceiling with Roxul Safe and Sound for noise reduction!  Following this we drywalled and taped, primed and painted the project complete including stair rails.  To keep the finished floor warm and dry we laid Dri-core throughout entire project area, finishing it off with a beautiful cork floor.(soft on the knees!!)  We also finished the stairs by installing cork on both the treads and risers complete with vinyl nosings.  The sharpest looking playroom on the block!!

Walk In Bathtub #2

Portfolio Categories: Bathrooms Renovations and Special Projects.

No before pictures on this one folks!  You will have to take my word for it, conventional tub in the same space, changed to walk in tub.  Out with the old, in with the new.  The modern walk in tub allows those whose mobility isn’t what it used to be enjoy a warm luxurious bath knowing they will easily be able to get up out of the tub.  Much easier to relax if you know you are safe.

Walk In Bathtub #1

When getting up and down in a bathtub becomes difficult, the answer may be a walk-in bathtub.  Here we were asked to change out the old tub for a walk in.  After removing the old tub and surround, we reconfigured plumbing and installed the new tub. We then drywalled the surround, primed it, and tiled it and the soap niche.  Finally, we grouted and siliconed all edges.
